A double whammy and a new horizon

Hi friends.

We're all friends here, right? Good.

Well, once again it's been a while since I've blogged.  And honestly, it may continue to be a while. Or at least until you see some creativity from me. I'll be completely honest and say that it's all gone. I'm coming to grips with the fact that I may be done scrapping. As in DONE done.  It's not just because of Dad's passing away, although that has had a huge impact, it all started with the move and having to pack up all. that. stuff.  It was overwhelming. Boxes upon boxes, realizing just how much stuff I had, how many albums I'd accumulated on top of all the pages that were (and still are) without an album...yeah. It's all too much. Not only do we not have room for it now that we're in transition, but emotionally it's just not in me anymore. It's a double whammy. I may be done. Completely totally finished. And I'm okay with that.

Over the years I've read other blogs where other girls have experienced this burnout or the idea of just being done, and I've always felt so sad for them. I mean, how could they just walk away? What were they going to do for their "me" time or creative outlet? Did they not LOVE what they were doing?  But now friends, I see the other side of the coin. Yes I did love it. Yes I will miss it. But I need to step away. There are other crafties I want to pursue, or at least I'm toying around with the idea or pursuing. So I'm going to try. I've always wanted to attempt a quilt or make my girls some cute summer dresses. I have a passion for photography and want to see where that leads. So while I'm down, I may not be "out", just venturing in a new direction. And I'm itching to decorate our new home (when we finally get one). If you follow me on Pinterest, then you can attest to that. ;)

I'll probably use this blog to share some of these new projects and try to stay more up-to-date with the everyday moments I hope to capture with my camera. In fact, I've just signed up for Karen Russell's Photographer's Workshop. I'm super excited to get started! I've read Karen's blog for several years, and I'm now finally able to play along with one of her classes. So that's what's on my radar, it's what's new on my horizon. Who knows, I may pick up some scrappy supplies every once-in-a-while and just play. But right now I want to look ahead, try something different, pursue another passion, and see where it all leads. Feel free to follow along as I hope to share here on my blog where the Lord is leading. Or feel free to unsubscribe. I'm okay with that too. Either way, thanks for checking in, following along if you do so, and for being a friend.

Cue Golden Girls theme song here.

It's been fun. Thanks for letting me share.
